Conservation status:Threatened
Sadly all self sustaining populations are gone from the darling river system!

Known distribution: Silver perch were once widespread and abundant throughout the entire Murray-Darling Basin. Unfortunately silver perch have now declined close to the point of extinction in the wild. Only a few natural self sustaining populations still occur in their original range.
